City Hall and Hall of Honor

One landmark of Heilbronn is the town hall. It was rebuilt between 1950 and 1953 according to historical models, with beautiful arcades under the flight of steps. The representative building was erected in 1417 in Gothic style and extended in Renaissance style at the end of the 16th century.
In the courtyard of the town hall, behind the rococo facade of the former town archive, there is the Hall of Honor commemorating the destruction of the town on December 4, 1944, with models of the historic, destroyed and rebuilt town center.

Astronomical Clock on City Hall

The showpiece of Heilbronns town hall facade is the art clock from 1579/80 made by Isaak Habrecht from Schaffhausen, who also created the art clock on Strasbourg Cathedral.

Market Square with Katie’s House, Zehender House, and Robert Mayer Monument

The market square is in front of the town hall, where a weekly market is held three times a week. On the left-hand side is the Käthchenhaus, a Gothic stone house from the 14th century. The bronze monument to Robert-Mayer is on the right side of the town hall on the market square. Also on the right-hand side is the Zehnder House, a baroque secular building. The building is protected as a cultural monument.

St. Kilian’s Church with the Seyfer Altar

With its octagonal tower, Kilian's Church is considered the first tower with Renaissance elements north of the Alps. Inside you will find the high altar by Hans Seyfer, a top work of late Gothic sculpture and altarpiece art. Kilian’s Church can be entered from 09:00 to 18:00.

Götz Tower (Götzenturm)

Today, only two towers remain from the once mighty Heilbronn city wall; one of them is Götzenturm. It was built in 1392 and formed the southwestern corner pillar of the city wall.

Pottery Market Tower (Hafenmarktturm)

The Pottery Market Tower, also called Hafenmarktturm, is reminiscent of the former Franciscan monastery. The Gothic Franciscan church was consecrated in 1314 and burnt down by the departing French troops in 1688. The tower was rebuilt between 1698 and 1727 from donations by the citizens.

Bulwark Tower (Bollwerksturm)

The Bulwark Tower is the second tower that bears witness to the once mighty city wall. It fortified the north-western corner of the city wall. The name "Bollwerksturm" was given to the actual Heilbronn "Götz Tower" when the Swedes and French expanded the immediate surroundings of the tower into a strong bulwark during the Thirty Years' War. German Court and the Teutonic Cathedral (Deutschhof mit Deutschordenmünster)

The German Court used to be a walled area within the city. It was built in the first half of the 13th century and was used by the Teutonic Knights as an administrative seat for their estates. In 1803, "Deutschhof" fell to Württemberg and was used by the state as a court and administrative building.

Theresien Tower (Theresienturm)

The Theresientrum, Heilbronn's distinctive high bunker on the Theresienwiese, was built in 1940 by the Munich Air Force Division VII, which was responsible for Heilbronn.

Thanks to an initiative of the Heilbronn Civic Foundation, a stairway was built in the spring of 2019 to make the tower accessible to interested members of the public in this way.

Botanical Orchard

The botanical orchard is located about 2 kilometers from the city center. It is a green gem in Heilbronn's northern city.

Its botanical features include regional fruit trees and shrubs, school and show gardens, and diverse perennial plantings. The grounds owe their unique charm to the historic garden houses.

Wine Villa

The Wein Villa is a house with history. The shell, built in 1873, was acquired by Andreas Faißt in 1875 and rebuilt into a villa by 1876. After the death of the widow Faißt, the estate was owned by various entrepreneurs.

From 1922 it was the seat of multiple administrations, and from 1960 to 1995, it was owned by the city of Heilbronn and housed various municipal offices. Since 2000, the representative building has been maintained as a wine villa.

Pfühl park

The Pfühl park is considered Heilbronn's oldest park, first mentioned in a document in 1519. Today it forms a unified greenspace with Lake Trappensee.
